Christmas Caroling
With the Christmas season fast approaching, something that happened yesterday has been on my mind. A group of women from the UK Women's Choir and I went to the UK Children's Hospital for some caroling. While there, we saw many beautiful children who will most likely be spending their holidays in their rooms. One young man, probably 16 or 17, stood out to me. He was talking with his family members, but once every so often, he would sneak a peek at us and smile. It was in his corner of the hospital that we got a door slammed on us. We are a decent choir. We didn't sound bad. This lady just slammed the door. Did her small child ask her do to this? Or was it just this lady being a jerk? We may not ever know the answer. But we were just trying to bring joy to these people, in a time that they may not know joy. However, this one lady did not damper the entire day. Even the smiles of the one boy in the same corner outweighed the rude actions of this lady. And the trip to the hospital, though it was pouring and my clothes dripped in puddles, was the highlight of my day.
